How can you show your love for your spouse, partner, friend, or family member? That might depend on their love language. Everybody communicates in a unique way and shows their love in a separate way. One person might express love by acts of kindness, such as, doing an errand for you without asking, while another might give positive verbal affirming statements, such as, “Thank you for the dinner, it was great. I appreciate you making it. You are a wonderful cook.”
Whatever your communication styles, it is important to understand the communication style of your spouse, partner, friend, or family member. You might do something to show your love the way YOU would like but not the way your PARNTER, FRIEND, or FAMILY MEMBER would like. To feel loved and supported you must speak your partner’s love language.
To understand more about your partner, friend or family member’s and your own love language, you can read the many books written by Gary Chapman author of “The Five Love Languages.” What love language do you speak?
