Frequently Asked Questions
Your first visit we spend 2 hours to get to know your and your health history. This may seem more lengthily than the typical doctors visit both conventional and Naturopathic, but we feel this gives us the best start in addressing your health concerns. During your first visit, we will discuss your current health concerns, review past and family medical history, discuss relevant labs, do applicable exams, and create an individualized treatment plan. We listen and collaborate with you to find the best short and long terms solutions to address your health concerns and feel healthy and vibrant again.
The best way to prepare for your first or initial visit is the do the following:
- Organize and bring recent blood work, scans or tests completed by your prior doctor or health care provider from the past year
- Bring old labs and test results that are over one year that are important to your illness or health concern
- Fill out new patient forms
- Write a list of questions you may have to and bring your visit
- Ask our staff about any questions you may have about fees, labs, or concerns you can have address before your first visit
This depends on what health concerns you are addressing. Mostly importantly, your follow up visits are individualized to you. Most follow up visits are an hour but can also be shorter for a more focused concern. We encourage our patients who are stable with their health to be seen at least two times per year. Established follow up visits are typically 60minutes but can be less (15, 30, or 45 minutes) based on your health needs.
Routine blood work in drawn offsite. This way you use your insurance to cover most labs. We can write lab requisition forms for Sonora Quest, Labcorp, or the lab of your choice. We also have low-cost cash lab referrals for those who do not have labs covered by insurance. We do offer specialty labs testing in our office which includes blood draws for food allergy and sensitivity testing and cheek swabs for genetic testing. We also offer cutting edge specialty labs testing kits (urine and saliva) that are collected in the convenience of your home and mailed to the lab directly. This is done after thorough instructions from our staff.
Our doctors have decades of clinical experience. We can dig deep to find why you feel bad and create an individualized plan that can help regain your health. Our Naturopathic Doctors can act as your primary care provider if you choose, or we can work in conjunction with all other types of doctors and healthcare practitioners. We also refer to specialist when needed.
Our doctors are licensed physicians and prescribe medications when medically necessary. This can include common mediations, such as, thyroid medications, antibiotics, hypertension meds, anti-depressants, as well as, testosterone and bio-identical hormone replacement.
Request a refill from your pharmacy and your doctor will approve your prescription if appropriate. Please allow 24-48 hours for prescription refills. Certain prescription may require an office visit and/or longer wait time to refill. New prescriptions require an office visit.
We are considered “out of network providers” and we do not accept direct payment from insurance companies. This means you will pay all applicable fees for service at the time of your visit. However, we provide you will a receipt containing essential information that can be submitted to your insurance to see if you can get reimbursed. We do accept Health Savings Accounts (HSA) with the Visa or Master Card logo that can be used toward medical visits and treatments. We also accept cash, checks, and most credits cards.
You can email us through our website or at [email protected] or call our office with any questions you may have. We generally get back to you the same day but ask you to allow up to 2 business days for a response. If you have not heard from our office via, email, text, or phone, we did not get your message. Please reach out again
An appointment is always required to see one of our doctors. Although we do not accept walk-ins, if you call with an acute condition, we will make every effort to get you seen same day or next day via telemedicine, phone, or in-person for a brief visit to make sure your medical needs are met.
If our office is closed, you can visit a local urgent care or go the nearest Emergency Room (ER) to address more serious and urgent health concerns. You can request they send our office a copy of your records for review.
In the case of any medical emergency, you should always dial 911 for emergency medical care
