After miscarrying in 2016, my husband and I were completely devastated. We were searching for answers and were told time and time again that we were both healthy and to just try to conceive again. When I came to Dr. Lane I was exhausted, desperate and not trusting of doctors. My journey of trying to get pregnant started months before I met Dr. Lane. I met with the top 3 Fertility doctors in the Scottsdale/Phoenix area. All three showed no genuine care or concern for me and my husband. It was obvious they only cared about money. Without going into too much personal detail I will just say that they all said I will be lucky to have babies, and if I do, I defiantly won’t be able to have them past 35. Well, I’m excited to say that I’m 37 and 7 months pregnant! I contribute this miracle to the care and love of Dr. Lane. I started seeing Dr. Lane in February 2015, during my luteal phase. Prior to Dr. Lane, I received acupuncture from another provider for 5 months. At the time, I was a healthy 38 year old and didn’t see any reason why I couldn’t get pregnant. My FSH raised in the previous year from 12.6 to 13+ and my former Naturopathic Medical Doctor (NMD) was getting anxious and wanted me to see a Reproductive Endocrinologist (RE).
I had seen a RE before and did not like that experience, during my first appointment I was asked to do IVF and take fertility drugs. I had given up that path altogether.
In my first appointment with Dr. Lane we talked for several hours focusing on what the possible issues could be. Dr. Lane wanted to look at my adrenals and optimize my TSH level (which was already normal). Dr. Lane also focused on my emotional health and prescribed a homeopathic medicine. The homeopathic medicine helped me tremendously. She prescribed other supplements to optimize my adrenals throughout the day; in addition, I started getting acupuncture from Dr. Lane weekly.
In the next cycle, my FSH was already a little lower ~11 something and emotionally I felt better, too. In an appointment after ovulation, 4 days post ovulation to be precise, she asked ‘what’s the news,’ as if she knew this is the month. I was skeptical. I had literally just started taking some of the supplement she prescribed. In fact, I had only taken the thyroid supplement for 2 days and the adrenal medicine not more than 3 weeks. Around 8 days post ovulation I found out I was pregnant.
In addition to being a great person, Dr. Lane is very good at what she does. She will diagnose the problem and fix it. I was especially impressed by her skills in other alternative medicines, such as homeopathy. Dr. Lane also combines several acupuncture techniques to optimize results. She has a very nice personality and will address all your questions and never rush you out. I am continuing to see Dr. Lane with the prenatal care with great results. I highly recommend her for anyone trying to conceive or with any other health issue.

One of the things I deeply appreciate about Dr. Lane is that I have never once felt as though I was condescended to or patronized by her. Many doctors give you a five minute, Reader’s Digest version of what is going on with your health, and then they brush you off or resent your efforts to understand your condition better. That has never been the case with Dr. Lane. She always makes an effort to address every question her patients have, and she works hard to educate her patients about their conditions so that they can become partners in managing their own health. I particularly have been impressed with her commitment to the care of her fertility patients. Not only did Dr. Lane go above and beyond in rearranging her schedule so as to provide me with pre-transfer and post-transfer acupuncture treatments at the optimal times for my pregnancy to succeed, she also met with me frequently post-transfer to do additional acupuncture treatments to support my potentially complicated pregnancy. I truly believe that Dr. Lane’s acupuncture made this pregnancy the resounding success it has been, in spite of the hormonal and autoimmune disease challenges that I faced, and I urge any woman who is undergoing IVF to do the pre- and post-transfer acupuncture treatments so as to maximize their chance of their embryos implanting successfully.

At the age of 33, I began to experience hot flashes and stopped having a regular menses. I went to my OBGYN after having abnormal blood labs returned. March of 2011, I had an FSH of 72. My husband and I were informed that we should consider an egg donor immediately, if we really wanted kids and we were sent off with a few business cards for Fertility Doctors. In August of 2011, I began to work with a highly recommended Fertility Specialist. After several series of testing and procedures, I was still left facing the recommendation of an egg donor. My FSH had dropped to a 36, my AMH was at a 0.6.

“With FSH level of 23.7 and AMH of 0.1 it was thought that I will never get pregnant again. I had two fertility doctors turning me down with ‘secondary infertility’ and ‘premature menopause’ diagnosis. They looked at the numbers and recommended egg donation in a hurry, before I turn 40 and my chances would further narrow.
Dr. Lane had a different approach. She did not confine herself to the ‘numbers’ but rather examined them along with other evidence for a comprehensive picture. We sat through an in-depth interview in which Dr. Lane took note of symptoms like headaches, period (frequency, quality and duration), fatigue and discomfort in various body parts. She took down medical history and ran additional tests for adrenal function, liver function, and other systemic data that could be helpful. To be fair, Dr. Lane made a hypothesis about the culprits in my condition as early as the first interview but she made sure to substantiate her assumptions with solid data.
Eventually we agreed on a treatment that I could live with, considering my busy schedule as a working mom of a three year old.
